I am in the Army and do not like running. We do it all the time. So I bought this bike to stay in shape in lieu of running, so I thought I would give cycling a try. WOW! I wish I had purchased or rode a bike like this years ago. I was immediatly blown away by the looks and handling of this bike. I tried it up a steep grade and pulled it with no problem. I cant tell you what it did for my confidence after reaching the top. I felt I could do anything with this bike and cant stay off of it. You can not go wrong with this purchase.

I'm not the most experienced rider or cyclist but, I just wanted to share my views on the Fastroad SLR 1. I bought this bike specifically as a road bike and because I don't care for drop bars much. Maybe because I have never ridden one before makes me feel uncomfortable and when I did test ride one, it just didn't feel right "for me". This may have been resolved with more saddle time though. What can I say about the Fastroad SLR 1..? - To me, the bike weighs light and feels nimble. - Love the design of the frame. This was one of the reasons why I purchased the bike too. Very appealing to my eyes. - Excellent parts for the price, great bang for the buck. - To me, the upright riding position doesn't fatigue me on long rides.

I have a nice 2014 carbon bike and wanted something just for variety. I was interested in this because it has nice features for 1k. Internal cables, hydro brakes and Giant's best aluminum frame. When I took it home it climbs hills just as well as my carbon bike which is twice the MSRP price. On straights the power output is right behind the carbon bike by a hair. As for comfort the carbon takes the comfort factor by maybe 10% at BEST. The medium I got weighed 23.5 pds. Not light by high performance bike standards but its has hydrualic disc brakes which does add some weight. I can say the frame is high performance, stiffness you can feel. A bargin for the high quality ride.
