2014 Raleigh Tripper

Singlespeed style meets the versatility of gears on Raleigh's Tripper. This urban machine has an internally geared, low-maintenance 3-speed Shimano Nexus drivetrain. Add in the Shimano disc brakes, wide Schwalbe tires, and the smooth-riding chromoly frame and fork, and the Tripper may be the realest ride downtown. It's not just a city dweller though, there's a bit of race bike genetics in here: a press-fit bottom bracket and semi-aero rims are useful touches that will make your commutes zoom by. And the Raleigh seat, post, and stem are equally suited to the task.

      Bike hits all marks for performance, durability, and comfort in a quick, simple bike. Tough and fast. Pros seem to respond well to it online, but I'm no pro and can only say: it's a no brainer choice for daily riders, works great for exercise, too. I ought to exercise with it more. No risk of overuse. It's a beast in a really unassuming package. Dave and other folks at B&L; spent a LOT of time with me making me comfortable before purchase by going thru features on this and lots of other bikes, rec'ing specs and size, price-checking, calling around on a few details, etc. Haven't regretted purchase for a single day. Thanks again to Beth, Dave, and the whole crew down at the shop.
